• Emerson Bay State Recreation Area (West Okoboji Lake)

Emerson Bay’s campground is one of the most popular campgrounds around! This 12-acre park is on West Okoboji Lake’s shores, ideal for camping and water recreation. It’s close to everything in the Okoboji area, with lake access, a beach, and more.

  • 82 campsites; 58 electric, 24 full hookups
  • Gravel pads; back in
  • Modern restrooms/showers
  • Dump station on site

• Gull Point State Park (West Okoboji Lake)

Gull Point’s campground offers shady spots near the beautiful shoreline of West Okoboji Lake. This scenic state park has plenty to do – from hiking and swimming to picnicking and fishing. And if you’re looking for a boat ramp – find one just one mile south at Emerson Bay.

• Cutty’s Okoboji Resort Club (West Okoboji Lake)

Cutty’s Okoboji Resort is on the northwest side of West Okoboji in Spirit Lake. It’s a members-only resort with fun amenities and over 300 campsites. You get more than just a campground, with many activities, entertainment, and services. To reserve RV or tent sites, you must buy a membership.

  • Full hookup, tent, and seasonal sites available
  • Other lodging options available
  • Several amenities, like a pool, laundry room, game room, grills, camper storage, and propane-filling
  • Entertainment and activities, like mini golf, fishing, volleyball, paddle boats, and crafts
  • You must buy a membership to make campground reservations, but some reservations have guest memberships.

Campground near East Okoboji Lake

• Elinor Bedell State Park (near East Okoboji Lake)

Elinor Bedell State Park has a small campground with everything you need for a great camping experience! This beautiful 80-acre state park is on the eastern shores of East Okoboji Lake. It offers hiking, biking, picnicking, and more. And it’s only six miles from Arnolds Park and other Okoboji attractions.

  • Eight full hookup campsites, all pull-through
  • Modern restrooms
  • Youth group campsite
  • Limited shade
  • Access to the trail system

Campground near Minnewashta Lake

• Minnewashta Campground (Minnewashta Lake)

The Minnewashta Campground is a small Arnolds Park city campground on the lake’s north shore. It’s located near Arnolds Park Amusement Park and other Okoboji attractions. Plus, it offers boat access to Minnewashta Lake. Find it at 7 Bascom St, Arnolds Park, IA 51331.

Minnewashta Campground details:

  • 15 electric campsites; three sites have water
  • Modern restrooms/showers
  • Boat ramp
  • Most spots are shady.
  • Sites are close together.
  • Dump station off-site: Central Park, 84 Dewey St
  • Available first-come, first-serve only (self-registration)

Campground near Big Spirit Lake

• Marble Beach State Recreation Area (Big Spirit Lake)

The Marble Beach State Recreation Area campground is the largest in the Okoboji area, with many campsites to choose from. It’s in a 64-acre park along the western shore of Big Spirit Lake, Iowa’s largest natural lake. This location is excellent for water recreation and is one of Iowa’s go-to summer vacation spots! From here, it’s a 20-minute drive to Arnolds Park.

  • 122 campsites – 68 full hookups, 9 electric & water, 17 electric, and 28 non-electric tent sites.
  • Gravel pads, some pull-through. 
  • Some sites are level, but others are on a slope.
  • Some campsites have lake views.
  • Modern restrooms/showers.
  • Dump station on site.
  • Boat ramp and beach area in North Campground.

Other Okoboji Area Campgrounds

• Loon Lake and Pearl Lake Campgrounds (near Big Spirit Lake)

The Loon Lake and Pearl Lake area campgrounds are in Jackson County, Minnesota, just north of Big Spirit Lake. The area offers fishing opportunities, swimming, boat access, and trails connecting to the Dickinson County, Iowa, trail system.

Seasonal Campgrounds near Okoboji

• Cedar Ridge Campground (near Upper Gar & East Okoboji Lakes)

Cedar Ridge Campground is centrally located just east of Lake Okoboji, around a mile from all the attractions. This new private campground offers nearly 200 full hookup seasonal sites. For more information, see their Facebook page or email cedarridgeboji@gmail.com.

• Camp Boji Seasonal RV Park (West Okoboji Lake)

Camp Boji RV Park is close to Arnolds Park Amusement Park, on the southeast shore of West Okoboji Lake. But it’s only available for seasonal camping. For more information, contact Camp Boji at 712-332-5114 or use the contact form on their website. They also have a VRBO rental onsite.

• Fieldstone RV Park (near Lower Gar Lake)

Fieldstone RV Park is less than a mile from Arnolds Park and West Okoboji Lake, near Lower Gar Lake. It offers 200 full hookup seasonal RV sites and boat storage. It’s within walking distance of many attractions. For more information and a site map, see their website or call 712-332-7631.

• Ranch RV Park (near East Okoboji Lake)

Ranch RV Park is near East Okoboji Lake, just east of Hwy 71. It’s close to popular Okoboji attractions and is by the Iowa Great Lakes Recreation Trail. It’s only available for full-time, seasonal camping. For more information, see their website or contact them at 712-337-6020.

• Oar’s Campground (Minnewashta Lake)

Oar’s Campground is near the north shores of Minnewashta Lake. Campsites are seasonal, with limited spots for family and friends of campers. Contact them at (712)470-5609 or (712) 470-0780 for campground information and seasonal rates. Find their website here.

• Cutty’s Okoboji Resort Club (West Okoboji Lake)

Cutty’s Okoboji Resort is a members-only resort with fun amenities and over 300 campsites. They have some seasonal sites and offer activities, entertainment, and services. To reserve RV or tent sites, you have to buy a membership. See the website for more information.
