According to the Iowa DNR, there are nearly 100 cabins for rent in state parks across Iowa. So, whether you want a quiet weekend getaway or a weeklong family get-together, plan your escape to one of the Iowa state parks with cabins!

The good news is, there’s something for everyone! From yurts to modern cabins, the options are as varied as the parks themselves. Also, several are available year-round, so you can even retreat to nature during the winter.

See our list of cabins for rent in Iowa State Parks below to help you find the right place to stay!

Plan your cabin stay

There are a few things to know about renting cabins at Iowa State Parks. Below are a few details to keep in mind when planning your cabin stay:

  • There’s a minimum stay of two nights, and during peak season, some require a week-long stay (weeks begin on Fridays). But most camping cabins are a two-night minimum all season.
  • Make reservations online at Reserve America.
  • You must provide your bedding, pillows, towels, dishes, cleaning items, and toiletries.
  • Check-in is 4:00 pm, and checkout is 11:00 am.
  • Prices range from approximately $50 to $150 per night.
  • Dogs are allowed in some cabin rentals (not all!). Renters are responsible for damage and clean-up.
  • See the DNR Cabin-Yurt General Rules for more cabin & yurt rental rules (and park-specific rules).
  • Renter’s are responsible for cleaning up before checkout. See the DNR Cabin-Yurt Cleaning Rules.
